Week of January 30th - February 3rd

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, I am not assigning homework this week. Enjoy your week!

Please note, we will still be having a spelling and timed test on Friday.

Announcements

Our next region quiz will cover the West region. States in this region include: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Students were sent home with a blank map on Friday to help prepare them. The pre-test will be on Monday and the post-test will be on Friday. If a student makes a perfect grade on the pre-test, he, or she, will not need to take the post-test. We will review in class, but please make sure your child is studying at home as well since this is a larger region.

I will be sending home information for our next book report soon. Students may choose between a non-fiction, or a biography, or autobiography, book. Grade-level books in these genres tend to be a little shorter, so don't worry if they are less than 100 pages. I am adding an extra week into the project time, so there is no need to work on it during Spring Break.

Our field trip to Kids and Kows is this Wednesday. We will be leaving at 9:00 and returning at 12:30. Students may wear Spirit Wear. They need to wear closed-toed shoes, and outer-wear appropriate to the weather. The barns are climate-controlled, but the weather outside does affect the weather inside. Thank you so much to the following parents for voluteering to drive: Mrs. Downey, Mrs. Elias, Mrs. Adams, and Mrs. Tran, Mrs. Alaback, and Ms. Dillard!

Pizza Lunch is this Wednesday. We sent out the field trip forms before Pizza Lunch was scheduled on the calendar. We will eat lunch a bit later, but we will NOT miss out on Pizza Lunch day! You may want to send your child to school with a big, healthy snack on Wednesday since students will be missing snack and eating a bit later.
